Two of the most experienced and high-profile real estate advisors in Scotland are setting up a niche agency business based in Glasgow, React News can reveal.
Andy Cunningham and Colin Mackenzie, widely considered to be the two leading commercial leasing agents in Scotland’s largest city, have resigned from their roles at CBRE and Knight Frank respectively.
Cunningham – a senior director at CBRE – was head of advisory and transaction services, while Knight Frank partner MacKenzie led the leasing side of the agent’s Glasgow-based business.
The duo, who resigned last week, will offer a full suite of solutions for landlords and tenants including a particular focus on offices – a sector in which they have excelled over the years, helping to deliver many of Glasgow’s stand-out occupier deals – for a new niche business, which will launch in the first half of next year.
With the officer sector going through a significant structural change, the partners’ new firm is aimed at providing creative, innovative and agile advice in the face of an evolving landscape.
Cunningham and Mackenzie’s venture will focus on landlord agency, tenant representation and development work, as well as repositioning stranded assets.
They have been involved in the successful letting of most of Glasgow’s high-profile office developments over the past real estate cycle – notably the 300,000 sq ft+ let-up of 177 Bothwell Street – and work closely with most of the city’s main occupiers.
